Maejo University

Mr. Ruici Tio, Regional Lead of Safety & Integrity Policy Programs at Meta Asia-Pacific Headquarters in Singapore, along with executives from Meta Platforms Inc. and Facebook Thailand, participated in an academic and research exchange on AI knowledge and digital citizenship with administrators and faculty members of the Faculty of Information and Communication on December 9, 2024.

The event was hosted by Assistant Professor Napath Rueangnapakul, Associate Dean for Research, Academic Services, and International Relations, and Ms. Uthaiwan Srivichai, Associate Dean for Administration and Strategic Planning. Faculty members and staff welcomed the delegation at Meeting Room IC 203, 2nd Floor, 75th Anniversary Building, Faculty of Information and Communication, Maejo University.

The discussion focused on digital skills development, the study and application of the "We Think Digital: AI Literacy" curriculum and teaching materials, as well as potential research projects to enhance students' digital citizenship skills. The meeting also explored opportunities for academic collaboration between Meta Platforms Inc. and Maejo University in developing essential digital skills for the younger generation, fostering growth in the modern digital ecosystem.

On Thursday, January 9, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Somkiat Chaipiboon, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication, together with executives from the Faculty of Information and Communication, Maejo University, paid a visit to Associate Professor Dr. Weerapon Thongma, President of Maejo University. The purpose of the visit was to extend New Year greetings and seek blessings as part of the New Year 2025 celebrations.The meeting took place at Room 401, Office of the President Secretariat, 4th Floor, University Administration Building, Maejo University.

Faculty of Information and Communication, Maejo University, Organizes an Entrepreneurial Knowledge Incubation Program for Students

On January 8, 2025, the Faculty of Information and Communication, Maejo University, hosted an Entrepreneurial Knowledge Incubation Program for students majoring in Digital Communication. The event featured Dr. Benjawan Sujarit, CEO of BEN ENERGY NETWORK CO., LTD., as the keynote speaker.Dr. Benjawan delivered a lecture on the topics of entrepreneurial presentation and communication skills and social etiquette, aiming to enhance the practical knowledge and confidence of future entrepreneurs. The event was held at the Arkom Kanjanaprasodhi Conference Room, 4th Floor, Anuwat Yossuk Building, Maejo University, Chiang Mai.This program aligns with the university’s policies on technology, innovation, and knowledge development, as well as its focus on educational quality standards, contributing to the Reinventing University initiative to transform the institution.

Faculty of Information and Communication, Maejo University, Hosts a Workshop on OKRs for Work Outcomes

On Monday, January 6, 2025, the Faculty of Information and Communication, Maejo University, organized a workshop titled "OKRs for Work Outcomes". The session was honored by the presence of Dr. Poramet Chumyim, Senior Advisor to NSTDA and Founder/Manager of Technology & Business Accelerator: FI Accelerator, as the guest speaker.The workshop targeted the faculty’s executives, lecturers, and staff. Participants collaboratively developed OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) for the faculty, aiming to align organizational efforts toward common goals, enhance focus, and establish clear, measurable processes.This activity is part of the Upskills-Reskill Program designed to enhance the competencies and elevate the potential of the faculty’s personnel. The program aligns with the goal of fostering a results-driven organizational culture through effective planning and execution.
