The Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology (Public Organization) Visits and Studies at the Faculty of Information and CommunicationOn November 29, 2024, the Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology (Public Organization) visited and studied the teaching and learning systems and laboratories at the Faculty of Information and Communication. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Assistant Professor Dr. Naphat Ruangnapakul, Associate Dean for Research, Academic Services, and International Relations, along with the faculty’s administrators, lecturers, and staff.This activity marked an important opportunity to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange between the Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology (Public Organization) and the Faculty of Information and Communication. The visit aimed to deepen understanding of the approaches to developing personnel competencies in technology and communication, aligning with the rapidly evolving trends in the tech industry.On this occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Naphat Ruangnapakul represented the faculty in delivering a welcome address and explaining the faculty’s research and academic service operations. He also introduced the modern facilities and their applications, including:Advanced Film Production Room, designed for learning film production and multimedia processes.Live Streaming Room, equipped with state-of-the-art technology for live broadcasting.Visual & Motion Capture Room, offering immersive learning experiences with 3D motion capture.Photography Studio, fully equipped with professional-grade photography tools.This visit underscored the commitment of both organizations to driving and supporting advancements in education, technology, and communication for a brighter future.

The Faculty of Information and Communication, Maejo University, was honored by Y&Archer with an invitation to attend A-Stream 2024, an international conference on startups held in South Korea.
From October 22-26, 2024, Assistant Professor Dr. Napat Ruangnapakul, Associate Dean for Research, Academic Services, and International Relations of the Faculty of Information and Communication at Maejo University, was honored by Y&Archer to participate in the A-Stream 2024 conference in South Korea. This international conference focused on startups, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in collaboration with organizations across various regional industries. Dr. Napat also had the opportunity to present and discuss Maejo University’s innovations with private sector representatives from Japan and South Korea.Y&Archer, designated by the Korean Ministry of SMEs and Startups, fosters startups through partnerships with Korean government agencies, state-owned enterprises, and investors.Additionally, at this event, there was a ceremony for signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between SPACE-F—the first incubator and accelerator program in Thailand for food technology startups—supported by the National Innovation Agency (NIA), Thai Union Group Public Company Limited, Mahidol University, and other leading agencies. This MoU with Y&Archer aims to cultivate and accelerate food technology startups into the global market and to stimulate the FoodTech startup ecosystem between Thailand and South Korea.Following the conference, Dr. Napat explored innovation ecosystem development for student and academic entrepreneurship at Korea University. Dr. Napat also met with Professor Dr. Young Min Baek from the Department of Communication at Yonsei University.

The Faculty of Information and Communication signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for academic cooperation and held discussions on academic collaboration with the Faculty of Business Administration and Communication Arts at the University of Phayao.

Associate Professor Dr. Somkiat Chaipiboon, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication, Maejo University, presided over and co-signed the MOU. Additionally, an online meeting was held to discuss further academic collaboration with partner institutions, including the Faculty of Business Administration and Communication Arts, University of Phayao; the Puey Ungphakorn School of Development Studies, Thammasat University; the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Burapha University; the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus; and the Faculty of Political Science, Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus. The event took place on October 16, 2024, in the online meeting room, 2nd floor, Faculty of Information and Communication, Maejo University. The collaboration aims to strengthen academic offerings in teaching, research, academic services, and staff exchanges to enhance academic robustness and provide new opportunities for students and faculty members.

The Faculty of Information and Communication signed a collaboration agreement to develop innovators and entrepreneurs in the Maejo Agriculture and Food Innovation District.
Associate Professor Dr. Somkiat Chaipiboon, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication at Maejo University, signed a collaboration agreement to develop innovators and entrepreneurs within the Maejo Agricultural and Food Innovation District. The partnership included Maejo University, the Chiang Mai Chamber of Commerce, and the Chiang Mai Federation of Industries. The signing ceremony, presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Weerapon Thongma, President of Maejo University, took place on October 1, 2024, at the Yi Peng Room, 2nd Floor, Melia Hotel, Chiang Mai. Additional signatories included Associate Professor Dr. Chaiyos Samritsakun, Vice President of Maejo University, and Dr. Kal Kalyanamitr, Director of the Maejo Agricultural and Food Technology Science Park.Representing the Chiang Mai Chamber of Commerce were Mr. Julnit Wangwiwat, Chairman; Dr. Kobkit Isarachiwawat, Vice Chairman; and Mr. Ratchakorn Piyasajbhoon, Vice Chairman. The Federation of Industries was represented by Mr. Chakarin Wangwiwat, Chairman, along with Mr. Samit Tawilertnithi, Vice Chairman; Mr. Sarawut Sinsamno, Vice Chairman; and Mr. Pranom Chenbamrung, Advisor.Also in attendance were Associate Professor Penrat Hongwitayakorn, Deputy Secretary-General of the Council of University Presidents of Thailand, and Mr. Manaspong Mangkrai from the National Innovation Agency (Public Organization), alongside university administrators, faculty, and researchers from Maejo University.The purpose of this collaboration is to foster innovation and entrepreneurship within the Maejo Agricultural and Food Innovation District, with a focus on personnel development through knowledge exchange and shared academic resources. This initiative aims to drive research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and startups in agriculture, food, and health throughout the supply chain. The partnership promotes joint research to further knowledge and innovation, supporting the extension of research and academic services for economic, social, and commercial benefits. Additionally, it enhances innovation communication and technology transfer in agriculture, food, and health to develop expertise in science, technology, and innovation across multiple dimensions.Maejo University has received ongoing support from the National Innovation Agency (NIA) to develop the Maejo Agricultural and Food Innovation District as an agricultural and food innovation ecosystem hub. This initiative focuses on nurturing entrepreneurs, startups, and community enterprises through foundational project utilization and fostering collaboration with private sector partners.
